Highest Ranking Latino In NYPD Appointed To Head Housing Police

Carlos M. Gomez will become the highest ranking Latino officer in the NYPD, as he takes over the helm of the police department’s House Police Bureau.  Gomez is currently head of the Bronx Patrol, and has served as the Executive Officer of Patrol Borough Queens North,  He has commanded MISD, as well as the 90 and 106 Precincts, and was the Executive Officer of the 101, 102 and 103 Precincts.

He joined the NYPD in 1984 and began his career on patrol in the 103 Precinct. He has served in the 101, 102, 103, 106 and 115 Precincts, as well as the Management Information Systems Division (MISD), Patrol Borough Queens North, the Applicant Processing Division and the Street Crime Unit.

Gomez holds a BA in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York.
