The Hayes men’s famed band dazzled the crowds at the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Fifth Avenue today, the world’s oldest and largest parade.  The current students were joined by generations of Cardinal Hayes alums who have played and marched in the parade for over 75 years. (Did not see alum Regis Philbin marching, could have missed him.)

Power Memorial Academy, named for a Monsignor at All Saints Parish in East Harlem, is a memory to most older Bronxites, a school in existence from 1931 to 1984, but the community of alumni of the esteemed Catholic school, known arguably as the greatest basketball high school ever, make their memories real on St. Patrick’s Day, coming together from the Bronx, Westchester and all around the country to remember their glory days on Walton Avenue and East 164th . The East Bronx is represented in Congress by Joe Crowley ’80.   All Photos c/o NBC 4.
