            ST. RAYMOND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HOSTS

6th ANNUAL EASTER EGG-STRAVANZA!

Bronx, NY, April 2, 2014 — St. Raymond Elementary School is hosting the 6th annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Friday, April 4. The Easter Egg-Stravaganza, an event for Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade only, begins with an Easter Egg Hunt on great lawn of St. Raymond’s at 8:45 a.m. Each class will have its own time slot in which to hunt for eggs — Pre-K and Kindergarten before the Easter Parade and First Grade after it. The Easter Parade begins at 10:40 a.m. The children will parade around the perimeter of the school in their “Easter finest” and straw hats they decorated themselves, led by St. Raymond Elementary School’s Marching Band and Cheerleaders. After the parade ends around 11:15, the First Grade classes will have their Easter Egg Hunt. Two petting zoos originally scheduled to visit the school for the afternoon portion of the event have been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 15, due to predicted rain for Friday afternoon.

“Our children really look forward to the Easter Egg-Stravaganza every year,” says Sr. Josefa Marie Curcio, CSJB, Assistant Principal for the primary grades. “It’s such a fun event” she says, “and the children get so excited hunting for eggs and participating in the Easter parade. It’s a wonderful prelude to Easter.”

Located at 2380 East Tremont Avenue, St. Raymond Elementary School, the parish school of St. Raymond Church — the “Mother Church of the Bronx” — offers full-day academic
