Vacca Statement on Appointment of Cynthia López as Commissioner of Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment

“Congratulations to Cynthia López on her appointment as Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Film and television production in New York has grown by over $2 billion since 2004, with 29 TV series and an average of 200 films being shot here each year, and I have no doubt that Commissioner Lopez – who has over 20 years of experience in this industry – will only further enhance this growth. I look forward to working with her to ensure that New York City remains central to the film and TV industry for years to come,” said Council Member James Vacca, Chair of the Committee on Technology, which oversees the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
