Twelve officers were inducted into the #NYPD Mounted Unit last week in a graduation ceremony held in Pelham Bay Park. The ceremony was the culmination of a 13 week long course consisting of intensive riding, horsemanship, grooming, and conducting medical care. Prior to the graduation the officers performed a 10-minute routine to recorded music in a riding area, putting their mounts through carefully choreographed trots and canters. Congratulations to them all!
