“I fully support President Barack Obama’s efforts to make higher education more accessible and affordable to all.
“For many in The Bronx, and in fact across the country, the ‘America’s College Promise’ and the ‘American Technical Training Fund’ proposals would be of great assistance for future college students saving money, especially as the cost of higher education continues to skyrocket—both at public institutions as well as private colleges and universities. These initiatives will bolster our national economy in the long-term, providing the country with a more highly-skilled work force that can compete in the global job market.
“We commit ourselves to do our part to implement the President’s vision, which will help improve the lives and the economy of the 1.4 million residents that live in The Bronx,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
