NEW YORKERS RALLY AT CITY HALL TO CALL FOR BAN ON USE OF
CREDIT HISTORY IN EMPLOYMENT-BASED DECISIONS
Mayor and Council Urged to “Show Some Love for NYC Workers” this Valentine’s Day by Ending Widespread, Discriminatory Credit Checks
NYC Council Members will join community, labor, and civil rights groups to call for passage of Intro. 261, the “Stop Credit Discrimination in Employment Act,” a bill to eliminate the unfair and discriminatory use of credit checks by employers. If passed, the act would be the strongest law protecting workers from unfair employment credit checks in the country. New Yorkers harmed by employment credit checks will tell their stories and will be available for interviews.
