Peanuts is a syndicated daily and Sunday American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz, which ran from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. The strip is one of the most popular and influential in the history of comic strips, with 17,897 strips published in all, making it “arguably the longest story ever told by one human being”.

“Who doesn’t love the Peanuts?” said Eliu Feliciano, CEO of EF Sports, Inc. who could not attend the event due to a change in schedule. “My favorite character is Charlie Brown and there are so many memories that come rushing back by just hearing the tunes from the show. We just had to do something for the youth and community with the new Peanuts movie, soon to hit theaters.”

Over 150 youth and community members were in attendance, participated in learning the
Peanuts dance which was led by Tanya Carrion and Orlando Marrero, watched movie clips of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and participated in various activities while getting characters painted on their faces by Lourdes Melendez.

“Being a sponsor and coming out to events like this one brings a big smile to my heart,” said Gabriel De Jesus of JGElite Consulting. “I am here with my family and friends and it is wonderful to see all of the kids so excited to see the movie clips and get a character painted on their face.”

“Seeing the excitement in the room is just enough to let us as Organizers know that the youth and community needs this mini getaway,” said Bharati Kemraj, Founder of the Bharati Dance Academy. “With so much happening all around everyone needs to share some laugh, love and enjoy life. EF Sports and the Bharati Dance Academy are more than just companies having events. We are family and together we make anything possible.”

Special thank you to the Offices of Council Member James Vacca and Assembly Member Mark Gjonaj along with Bronx House and JGElite Consulting.
