The Only Bridge We Could Truss

You allowed millions of people to go over you for 114 years.

You saw the first commercial monorail come and go in a few handful of years.

You stopped swinging in 1963 and stood stoic since then.

We camped out during the reunion and saw the stars.

Kids from Bronx House fell in love with planets.

We visited the Super Moon from your foot.

I even saw an asteroid pass through the super Moon and screamed in delight.

We saw Jupiter, Mars, the craters of the moon & the rings of Saturn. People didn’t believe us, but we showed them.

The International Space Station zoomed by as all of this happened.

I rode my bike on you.

You will never leave us, because you are not gone. You will always connect us.
