Earp was an American frontiersman. In the1870s, he worked as a police officer in Wichitaand Dodge City, Kansas, where he befriendedgunmen Doc Holliday and Bat Masterson. Helater worked as a guard for Wells, Fargo &Company. By 1881, he had moved toTombstone, Arizona, living as a gambler and asaloon guard.
