By the Numbers: Gentrification, an event hosted by the NYU Furman Center to mark the launch of its
State of New York City’s Housing and Neighborhoods in 2015 report. The event will be held on
Monday, May 9th, 2016 at NYU School of Law from
4:00-7:30 p.m. Copies of the report will be distributed at the event.
This year’s program will focus on gentrification, including how New York City’s low-income neighborhoods have changed since 1990 in terms of income, housing stock, demographics, rent levels, and race. The panel discussion will explore whether and how cities with rapidly-rising rents should respond to such changes.
Immediately following the program, guests are invited to a wine and cheese reception. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.
