New Yorkers to rally to #DeFundDAPL & divest risky fossil fuels

New York, NY — Just days after Mayor Bill De Blasio expressed support for cutting ties with the banks behind the Dakota Access Pipeline, New Yorkers will gather to call on City Comptroller Scott Stringer to #DeFundDAPL and divest from risky coal, oil and gas stocks. Just last week, Stringer announced the City will begin a long-awaited climate risk assessment of its investments.

Those attending will be New Yorkers representing 350NYC, 350BK, 350.org, NYU Divest, New York State Nurses Association, Riverside Church Beloved Earth Community, and more.

Speakers include:
Josh Fox, film director and environmental activist
Betámia Coronel, 350.org US Reinvestment Coordinator
Ajani Stella, 10-year-old fifth grader at PS 41
Sonia Ingram, Founding member of Riverside Church Beloved Earth Community
Sean Petty, New York State Nurses Association

All of this will take place Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 12pm ET at the City Comptroller’s Office, 1 Centre St, New York, NY.
