Bronx Parade & Community Engagement Day Brings Together Community

Bronx residents were excited about the second annual Bronx 12th Council District Community Engagement Parade, which will kick off Saturdayat the intersection of Eastchester Avenue and East Gun Hill Road, Bronx.  Attendance in the parade include New York City Council Members Andy King, performers from Universoul Circus, professional NFL players as well as  local schools, clergy and community groups, colorful costumes and cars, FDNY and various businesses, churches and community-based groups. The parade culminated into the 5th Annual 12thCouncil District Community Engagement Day event with Fun In The Son on the football field of Evander Childs High School, 800 East Gun Hill Road, with music, games and a range of exhibitors from Catholic Charities HomeBase, which distributed 1,000 backpacks to children and DEP which distributed 100 rain barrels to various healthcare providers and community-based exhibitors. The night concluded with a concert featuring Grammy-Award Winner Donnie McClurkin. More than 5,000 residents took part in the day’s events.
