Fordham University Announces

2017-2018 Men’s Basketball Schedule

The full 2017-2018 Fordham University men’s basketball schedule was released today. It features four televised Atlantic 10 contests and a visit from the defending Atlantic 10 champions, the University of Rhode Island, to the historic Rose Hill Gym.

Fordham will play 17 of its 30 contests in the friendly confines of theRose Hill Gym in 2017-2018 and will make four appearances on national television during the Atlantic 10 season, three on the NBC Sports Network and one on the CBS Sports Network.

“This year’s schedule will be a challenging one for us,” said Fordham head coach Jeff Neubauer. “The non-conference schedule will be a good test and get us ready for the Atlantic 10 season. The Atlantic 10 continues to be one of the best basketball conferences in the country and we look to build on the big wins we had last year over Rhode Island, VCU and Davidson. I encourage Fordham fans to come out and support us during the nonconference season and then return to help us during the challenging conference season.”

The 2017-2018 Fordham schedule includes eight schools that played in the postseason last year with five NCAA participants. Opponents who advanced to the NCAA tournament last year include Atlantic 10 foes Dayton, Rhode Island and VCU along with non-conference adversaries East Tennessee and West Virginia. Richmond played in the 2017 postseason NIT tournament while George Mason and George Washington from the A-10 both participated in the College Basketball Invitational.

It will be Fordham’s first game against a Big 12 opponent since the Rams faced Missouri (then a Big 12 school) in 2007 and the first against a current Big 12 opponent since Fordham took on TCU in 1987.

The Fordham men’s Atlantic 10 schedule will consist of 18 games, nine home and nine away, with the Rams facing five opponents in a home-and-home series. Neubauer’s squad will take on Davidson, Duquesne, La Salle, Saint Joseph’s, and VCU twice during the 2017-2018 season.
