April Showers Bring the Laughs to Empire City Casino As Comedian & Author Tom Shillue and Comedy Central Alum Aaron Berg Headline Wednesday Comedy Nights
(Yonkers, NY) — Tom Shillue, who has appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in the show’s “Rag Time Gals” barbershop quartet skits, and the off-Broadway actor and radio host Aaron Berg will headline the April installments of Wednesday Comedy Nights at Empire City Casino on April 11th and April 25th, respectively, in the casino’s Good Time Room.
Massachusetts native and FOX News Radio host, Tom Shillue, brings his stand-up routine to Empire City on April 11th. During his college days, Shillue was in a barbershop a cappella group at both Emerson College and the University of Massachusetts. He parlayed his experience into multiple appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, singing such songs as Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me” and Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” alongside the NBC host. Shillue has also toured nationally with comedian Jim Gaffigan, and recently published a book, Mean Dads for a Better America, where he reminisces about his childhood, family, and the traditional values he cherishes.
The featured performer on the 11th is New York-based Jourdain Fisher, who has been doing stand-up since he was a teenager. Fisher has performed at various festivals across the country including the New York Comedy Festival, the Laughing Skull Festival, and Laugh Your Asheville Off. He was a back-to-back winner of the Ultimate Comic Challenge, a finalist in the Carolina’s Funniest Competition and a Regional Showcase Finalist for Stand-Up NBC in New York. Another Massachusetts native, Andy Ostroff, completes the lineup as host of the laughfest.
New York City product Aaron Berg leads the laugh brigade on April 25th. Berg made his Comedy Central debut on This Is Not Happening in 2016, and returned to the channel to appear on Roast Battle Season 2 a year later. The accomplished stand-up has also appeared on AXS TV’s Live at Gotham, and has performed live at the Boston Comedy Festival, the New York Comedy Festival, and the nationally-televised Winnipeg Comedy Festival on CBC. His two albums, Comedy Coltrane and Unscripted, are available on iTunes and can be heard on Raw Dog on Sirius XM Radio. Berg has also performed in several off-Broadway plays including Underbelly Diaries and Jeremy Levy’s one-act play, 21 Days.
Vineland, New Jersey product Geno Bisconte joins Berg as the featured performer on the 25th. A comic, writer and actor, Bisconte is known for his roles in Amazon’s 2017 original series, Crashing, as well as the hit series, Gotham Comedy Live. Behind-the-scenes, he has written for the Comedy Central Roasts of both Rob Lowe in 2016 and Charlie Sheen in 2011. The 21-year-old up-and-coming comic, Lev Fer, is the MC of the night.
Doors for both comedy shows open at 7:00 p.m., with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door the night of each show. Admission is $5 for Empire Club members and $25 for non-members; non-members can stop by any promotions booth prior to the show and join the Empire Club for free. Elite Club and President’s Club members gain free admission. All attendees receive a complimentary drink ticket.
