Sandy E. Gresham Way Co-Naming Held

Sandy Gresham was a school teacher and educator who wanted her students to learn and be able to thrive in society. She also fought for Civil Rights and injustices in communities across the country with her husband the President of 1199 SEIU in the fight for all healthcare workers. Mr. Gresham said that he and his wife enjoyed thirty-nine beautiful years together.

The host for the event was Councilman Andy King. On hand were Mayor Bill de Blasio, Public Advocate Leticia James, Congressman Eliot Engel, New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, State Senators Jamaal Bailey and Luis Sepulveda, DNC Vice-Chair Assemblyman Michael Blake, City Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson.

After the speeches it was down the hill to uncover the new street sign Sandy E. Graham Way. The family was given a second street sign after the uncovering of Sandy E. Gresham Way.
