“The Unsinkable” Molly Brown (1867)

Though remembered as a socialite, Brown was actually a working class girl who married a miner. She only became wealthy upon the success of her husband’s engineering developments in the mining industry. In the sinking of the Titanic, Brown was lauded for helping to command a lifeboat and search for survivors.
