If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch a production of Cirque du Soleil, then you should. Their shows can be described as being part circus, part theatre, part opera and all Summer Olympics. Cirque du Soleil gives new meaning to the term of stage-acting”, because they bring every play to life.

A staple in the entertainment capital of the world, Cirque du Soleil has seven resident shows on the Las Vegas strip. All of the performances are extremely popular with the tons of visitors that frequent ‘Sin City’ annually. In fact, some tourists just come for the sole purpose of taking in a display of the full on recital.

On a recent trip to Vegas, I took in a performance of Mystere, [One of the highlights of my trip] at the Treasure Island hotel. An original, Mystere premiered in 1993, making it the longest running show in southern Nevada. Without giving away too much, the show is ideal for people of all ages. All of the actors do a marvelous job of bringing you on a fun-filled journey to this “special place” where the impossible becomes possible. The word can’t doesn’t exist in this wonderful land of make believe.

The style and grace of the acrobats, aerialists, dancers, and trapeze artists is unparalleled. The elaborate staging, special lighting, and intricate costuming are simply ravishing. It’s not by chance that audiences have gravitated to this same show for nearly three decades.
