Nick Honor Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

Freshman guard earns fourth weekly honor

 Fordham University guard Nick Honor (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland) was named Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week it was announced by the league office today. It is the fourth weekly honor of the year for the freshman.

The Rams went 1-1 on the week with an 85-67 win at Massachusetts on Wednesday night. In that game, Honor scored 18 points, shooting 4-for-5 from the behind the arc, and dished out six assists.

In the other game, a 74-66 loss to Duquesne in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday, Honor again netted 18 points and he added five assists and four rebounds.

On the week, Honor averaged 18.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, and 5.5 apg, shooting .412 (7-17) from long distance. He recorded eleven assist on the week with no turnovers.

On the season, Honor is averaging a team-best 15.9 ppg, ranking him seventh in the Atlantic 10, 2.1 rpg and 3.0 apg. He is second on the team with 56 three-pointers made and is shooting 80.6 percent from the free throw line (50-62), ninth among all A-10 players.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday, February 12, as they host the Davidson College Wildcats for an Atlantic 10 contest in the Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m.
