Boulders To Host Cuban National Team

The Rockland Boulders return home to play the Cuban National
Team in the Can-Am League’s International Baseball Showcase, this Tuesday through Thursday (June 25th 26th, and 27th) at Palisades Credit Union Park.

The festivities will be highlighted by an appearance on
Wednesday night from four-time World Series champion and former New York Yankees infielder Luis Sojo, who will sign autographs after throwing out the game’s ceremonial first pitch.

Sojo, who drove in the winning run in the 2000 Subway World Series, when the Yankees defeated the Mets, will also participate in a pre-game meet-and-greet, as part of a special $50 ticket offer. More information is
available by sliding to RocklandBoulders.com or calling the box office at 845-364-0009.

This is the second of the Boulders’ two International Showcase Series, which also included Japan’s Shikoku Island Independents visiting last week. Cuba begins the U.S. portion of their trip having posted a 4-5 record against the CanAm’s three Canadian teams. Rockland has hosted Cuba twice before, taking two-of-three in their last meeting in 2017, after the visitors swept the three-game set in 2016.

All International Showcase Series games count in the Can-Am
League standings. After Cuba departs, the Boulders close out the month of June with three games against the Sussex County Miners before an eight-game homestand kicks off the countdown to the 2019 All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 10th at Palisades Credit Union Park.

The full schedule of All-Star Week events and ticket information can be found at RocklandBoulders.com or by calling 845-364-0009.
