Black Panther and Princess Tiana were joined by more than 100 kids today, as they introduced the children to the world of bookmaking. The Day Care Council of New York (DCCNY) supplied all of the materials that were needed for the little ones to create fantastic stories and illustrations. The event was held at the East Side House Settlement Early Childhood Center in the Bronx. In addition, it was FREE and attended by children 3 – 7 years of age.
BACKGROUND:
Now in its 70th year, the Day Care Council of New York (DCCNY) launched its “Early Education, Better Care” campaign to promote awareness about community-based early childhood centers for parents with children ages birth-5 years old. The campaign celebrates the DCCNY as a leading authority on resources for parents seeking nurturing educational environments for the youngest members of their families. The DCCNY Banner Campaign was launched by announcing a series of public programs throughout the five boroughs in partnership with other community-based organizations.
