Bronx Columbus Day Parade

Saturday marked the 43rd Annual Bronx Columbus Day Parade. The parade marched down Morris Park Avenue, and this year turned up Williamsbridge Road to Lydig Avenue before ending one block short of Pelham Parkway.

The Grand Marshal for the parade was Captain Frank Vignali, New York City Fire Department, and the Honorary Grand Marshal was Principal Carol Ann Gilligan, PS/MS 498. Bronx District Attorney joined Councilman Mark Gjonaj, Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernandez, Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, and, for a short stroll on Morris Park Avenue, NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer.

Hundreds of people marched and there were performances in front of the reviewing stand by many of the enthusiastic marchers. The turnout on Morris Park Avenue appeared to be lower than in past years.
