DISTRICT COUNCIL 9 GIVES BACK TO BRONX FAMILIES DURING ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

District Council 9 donates over $3,800 in food products to Grace Episcopal Church West Farms Food Pantry this Thanksgiving season to provide families with warm holiday meals

Bronx, New York – District Council 9 hosted their Annual Teri Muroff-Meyer Food Drive, the union’s first food drive of the season. DC 9 donated over $3,200 in food products to Grace Episcopal Church West Farms’ Food Pantry in the Bronx. 

This year, DC 9 surpassed historic fundraising efforts, donating a total of $6,500 in food products to communities across New York. This is the union’s 7th year hosting the Teri Muroff-Meyer Food Drive.

“At District Council 9, our members are always excited to lend a hand to those in need,” said Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer Joseph Azzopardi. “It is my hope that our Teri Muroff-Meyer Annual Food Drive will bring joy to families throughout the Bronx.”

“We are so grateful for the donations from District Council 9 this holiday season, and for their continued support they provide our community,” said Madelin Reynoso, Assistant Director for Grace Episcopal Church West Farms’ Food Pantry. “These donations go a long way in the Bronx, giving families peace of mind this holiday season.”

Grace Episcopal Church West Farms’ food pantry is open Thursdays from 9 am to 12 pm. Their soup kitchen is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12 pm to 3 pm.
