Yankee Cup Award

Bronx Borough President’s Cup Presentation

While the Bronx Little League Championship game was played at the end of August, the game ended in a tie. So who do you give the President’s Cup trophy? The answer was to obtain a second cup, which would be exactly the same as the original.

Sunday the Borough President’s office and AT&T the sponsor of the President’s Cup handed out both President’s Cups to the Bronxchester Realtors and Grand Slam Little League. On hand for the presentation of the cups was Ray Negron of the New York Yankees organization. He apologized to both teams for the ending of the President’s Cup game in a tie, saying that he would make sure that next year there would be a fully open day to play as long as the teams would have to.

Both coaches, BP Diaz Jr., and Ray Negron take a selfie. That is a World Series ring on the finger on Mr. Negron.

Robin White AT&T’s Director of New York City and Westchester County external affairs joined Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. in the presentation of the two Presidential Cups, and gift cards to Modell”s Sporting Goods to help pay for equipment for the upcoming baseball season. There was also a delicious buffet for all who attended.
