It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, and out and about throughout the Bronx elected officials were giving out frozen turkeys or vouchers to local supermarkets for a free turkey for Thanksgiving. The Bronx Borough President’s office handed frozen turkeys out throughout the Bronx, local elected officials handed out frozen turkeys or vouchers in their own districts, but I was wondering why two members of the state assemble were teaming up to hand out frozen turkeys in Castle Hill.
The Councilman for the Castle hill area is Ruben Diaz Sr. who gave out vouchers for turkeys with his male District Leader John Perez. The assembly member from Castle Hill is Karines Reyes who at a different time and location was handing out frozen turkeys along with fixings. Assemblywoman Reyes had been a steady fixture with State Senator Luis Sepulveda, so where was Senator Sepulveda and why was Assemblyman Michael Blake in Castle Hill to give out turkeys? The answer Assemblywoman Reyes said was that Assemblyman Blake not Senator Sepulveda got the turkeys to give out for Thanksgiving.
Castle Hill is in the 15th Congressional District which Assemblyman Blake has declared that he is a candidate for the soon to be open 15th congressional seat in 2020 with the upcoming retirement of Congressman Jose Serrano. Assemblywoman Reyes said that she has too many friends in the 15th Congressional race to announce any endorsement.
