It was a cold Thursday night outside Bronx Borough Hall and in Lou Gehrig Plaza across the street people were waiting for the Annual Bronx Christmas Tree lighting. Lots of hot chocolate was on hand to warm up the people, and Mistress of Ceremony Veronica Guity (of Bronxnet Television) introduced Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. He introduced Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, along with the High School Varsity Voices of the Renaissance H.S. for Musical Theater and the Arts, who performed.
Then it was time to light the Bronx Christmas Tree as BP Diaz Jr. led the countdown tot he lighting. After the tree was lit BP Diaz Jr. invited everyone inside the Bronx County building to give out toys to the children and warm up. There were so many people that the line went almost around the building.
