BRONX DISTRICT ATTORNEY DARCEL D. CLARK WILL HOLD

‘A MARCH TO END GUN VIOLENCE’ ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2020

A Resource Fair Will Be Held Immediately Following

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark today announced her Office will hold “A March to End Gun Violence” on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. The march comes as the Bronx sees an uptick in shootings.

District Attorney Clark said: “My Office is holding this march to show Bronx residents that we support them in the fight against senseless shootings. We have seen too much violence this summer; too many lives lost. It must end now. I hope members of our community will join us as we march through a neighborhood that has been plagued by gunfire, including four shooting incidents that killed two men this past weekend. Additionally, there will be a resource fair at the end of the march to provide information on employment, healthcare and re-entry services. There will also be free COVID-19 testing on site.”

The event will be held between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., rain or shine. The march will start at 1729 Boston Road, at East 174th Street, and will end at Youth Village Park, located at 1181 Boston Road near Home Street. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is partnering with the 42nd Precinct Community Council and New York Police Department; Council Members Vanessa Gibson and Rafael Salamanca Jr., Save Our Streets, Guns Down Life Up, VIP Community Services, The Fortune Society, and CORE, which will provide free COVID-19 tests.

*All participants must wear masks during the march and at the resource fair*
