STATEMENT FROM BRONX DISTRICT ATTORNEY DARCEL D. CLARK ON THE PASSING OF FORMER MAYOR DAVID DINKINS
“I am saddened about the passing of former Mayor David Dinkins. He served the City with dignity and humility through times as challenging as today. There were racial divisions, an AIDS epidemic and violent crime, and through it all he worked tirelessly to improve the city.
“Mayor Dinkins was a role model as the first black mayor of New York. Even when he left office, he continued to be an ambassador for our City. He will always be remembered for his compassion and dedication to all New Yorkers.”
