COUNCIL MEMBER FERNANDO CABRERA CALLS FOR RESIGNATION OF NY STATE SENATOR LUIS SEPULVEDA FOLLOWING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CRIMINAL OBSTRUCTION CHARGES
Bronx, NY- Following today’s charges against New York State Senator Luis Sepulveda, New York City Council Member and Majority Whip Fernando Cabrera called for Sepulveda’s immediate resignation.
“It is unconscionable that Senator Sepulveda could remain in his position as a state senator following multiple domestic violence incidents and a charge of criminal obstruction. As a strong advocate for domestic violence victims and programs, I’m calling on Senator Sepulveda to immediately resign from the Senate. Elected officials must hold themselves to high standards of conduct and Senator Sepulveda has continued to fall short. Especially in view of his chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Crimes, Crime Victims and Corrections, he must resign immediately. I offer my heartfelt prayers to his wife and family.”
