As a committed union member, I know first hand how workers benefit from union membership. I was therefore honored to stand with Teamsters Local 202 in support of the workers at The Hunts Point Produce Market. These essential workers kept the food supply lines open throughout the Covid-19 crisis, their bravery allowed many of us to successfully work from home and avoid potential exposure to Covid-19. These courageous men and women , many of whom are our friends and neighbors are requesting a modest one dollar an hour increase, which is in my opinion eminently fair.
