The holiday season is finally here — which means it’s time to deck the halls, bring out the holiday cookies and embrace all things merry and bright.
Join the Bronx Chamber for our annual Holiday Party at Villa Barone Manor on Thursday, December 9th. Wear your best ugly sweater for our #uglysweatercontest and bring a toy for our #TOYDRIVE.
This years Toy Drive recipient is New Settlement. The New Settlement Community Center serves students from three schools, their families and members of the surrounding community with a range of programs in health and nutrition, education, youth development and the arts.

City Council Hearing Invitation
The Committee on Consumer Affairs and Business Licensing will hold a hearing on Tuesday, November 16th at 10 A.M, virtually via Zoom-Webinar regarding Int. No 2448 in relation to providing paid time to employees who accompany a child to receive a COVID-19 vaccination injection or care for a child with COVID-19 vaccine side effects.
UBS Grant Program
Project Entrepreneur, a program by UBS, aims to level the playing field for female founders of color by providing these founders with the resources and support they need to build and scale their companies. The Democratizing the Friends & Family Round program, in partnership with Hello Alice, will award $25,000 grants as well as access to virtual coaching and skill-building opportunities to 30 female founders of color who are leading high-growth companies.
The Small Business Growth Fund
Hello Alice is awarding 50 small business owners with $5,000 grants to help them make their next big move in 2022. To be eligible, a business must have less than $1M in annual revenue, a commitment to diversity and community, and a clear plan to use the grant funds.

Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP)
The Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP) allows people who are out of work and meet certain requirements to start their own business while collecting Unemployment Insurance benefits. If you dream of starting your own business and qualify for the SEAP, you can have the financial support you need to pay your bills while you work on that dream!
  • You can work full time on your new business while collecting Unemployment Insurance benefits
  • You don’t have to look for jobs while you work on your business
  • Money earned from your business is not deducted from your Unemployment Insurance benefits
  • You stay on track for success with training and counseling
  • You get opportunities to build a network of support to launch your business
  • You must receive a written acceptance into the SEAP before you can start your own business while collecting benefits.
City & State: 2021 Virtual Government Procurement Conference
When all rules changed for procurement during the pandemic many wondered how New York’s business would return. Over the last year or so we have been slowly returning to the city and state and this conference will talk about what it looks like. The Government Procurement Conference will foster business partnerships between the city and state level government, prime contractors, and small, minority, service-disabled veteran-owned, and women-owned businesses.

NYC Office of Nightlife
The deadline to apply for an All-Night Permit for New Year’s Eve is Tuesday, November 16.
Any bar or restaurant that would like to remain open and serve alcoholic beverages beyond their stipulated Friday night hours or past 4 am on New Year’s Eve, must apply with State Liquor Authority.
WORLD WAR I VETERANS OF WOODLAWN WALKING TOUR
Woodlawn Cemetery is proud to be the final resting place of veterans and dependents of every conflict stretching back to the American Revolution on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM.  Join Kevin C. Fitzpatrick, the award-winning author of “World War I New York: A Guide to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War,” for a walking tour of the graves and memorials of World War I veterans, men and women, who served in the Great War a century ago.
