THE BRONX’S FAMOUS FOODIE FESTIVAL IS CELEBRATING ITS
5TH ANNIVERSARY THIS MONTH.
New York May 1st, 2022 – It’s official, the borough’s ultimate foodie destination is turning FIVE
years old! The Bronx Night Market is pleased to announce its 5th anniversary of yet another
uplifting celebration of community, cuisines, and culture. With over 6,000 fans and new friends
alike at its season opener, the free open-air market scene will continue its mission to support
small & micro-businesses and artisanal creators by adding new food & merchant vendors, visual
artists, and local performances to the mix. The Bronx Night Market returns for its grand birthday
bash on Saturday, May 28th from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fordham Plaza (1 Fordham Plaza Bronx,
NY 10458).
If you’re familiar with MASC Hospitality Group events, then you know the team works to create
all their events with an incredible atmosphere, welcoming visitors to come and experience the
neighborhood in all its glory through delicious cuisines. Patrons are encouraged to join the
borough’s foodie revolution as they showcase delectable food vendors like Perros Locos; Arepa
Baby LLC; Bel-Fries; Bites by Buts; Chava’s Empanadas; StrEat Kings NYC; and HangryDog.
To satisfy everyone’s sweet cravings, patrons can find sweet new dessert vendors like Sam’s
Fried Ice Cream, Island Love Cakes, Booze Scoops (21+), Frost Frozen Yogurt Co., and
Cupcake Me!. As a melting pot of cultures, the open-air market will feature 50+ food vendors, so
whether you’re after your favorite comfort food or something new – there’s something to please
everyone at the Bronx Night Market!
The goal of bringing in merchant vendors is to build up an ever-changing marketplace that
reflects and responds to what New Yorkers want. The monthly series will offer a mix of new and
established micro; small; women; POC; and immigrant-owned businesses with a focus on
artisanal creators. Designed with all visuals in mind, the monthly series will spotlight
small-batch, handmade goods that can be found nowhere else in NYC. Patrons can expect to
purchase crafts from Yvee Art Jewels; ForTheCulture NYC; Halem’s Own Soaps; JBM Jewelry;
King Beard Care; KNOT JUST HAIR; Lotus in Violet; Chachi Beauty Co., Pop Pins NYC; along
with over 30+ merchant vendors to shop from.
To tie everything together, event producers will feature an incredible music lineup from some of
NYC’s homegrown artists. City Love NYC, a non-profit music and arts organization that
represents independent artists to share their talent with others; will feature headliners, Dan
Kiernan, Althea, and Anika Dara on the stage. Harlem Late Night Jazz is an organization
dedicated to uplifting the jazz & blues history. The group will perform original music that is
grounded in jazz but also has roots in R&B, soul, and funk right at Fordham Plaza. And to top
the day off, the open-air market will close off the evening with DJ Cosi as he dials up the beats
with his eclectic music.
