High School Students Compete at Bronx SciFest Today at Lehman

Selected high school students from around the Bronx gathered for the second year at Lehman College’s new $70 million dollar Science Hall to present their research projects to a panel of judges for the Bronx SciFest 2014.

Raychell Vélez, a student at the Bronx Center for Science & Math pictured above, was the big winner., receiving a cash prize and a four-year scholarship to Lehman, plus the opportunity to compete at the New York City Science and Engineering Fair.

The schools participating were Bronx Academy of Health Careers, Bronx Aerospace, Bronx Career and College Pre,p Bronx Center for Science and Mathematic,s Bronx Latin School, Bronxwood Preparatory Academy. Collegiate Institute for Math and Science. DeWitt Clinton HS, High School of American Studies, In-Tech Academy, International Leaderships Charter School, Lehman High School, Lincoln High School, Marble Hill HS for International Studies, Mott Hall V, Pelham Preparatory Academy and the Women’s Academy of Excellence.
