Council Member Andy King and members of New York City’s Finest will welcome the summer season with a night basketball game between officers of NYPD and community ballers, tonight at 9 p.m. at the Gun Hill Road Playground on Magnolia Street, between Holland and Cruger Avenues, across the street from the Gun Hill Community Center at 745 Magenta St. in the Bronx.
The purpose of the night game is to continue to build positive community relations between residents and officers of the 47th Precinct, which has experienced a spike in gun violence this year, compared to 2013. Admission is free.
