Bronx Community Board No. 8 Day at Yankee Stadium New York Yankees Youth Leadership Winners Attend On-Field Award Ceremony

The fifth winner, Christopher Ramirez, a senior at the Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy was unable to attend.

Bronx, New York, April 10, 2015 – Bronx Community Board No. 8 announces that the winners of the New York Yankees Community Council Youth Leadership Award attended an Award Ceremony on the field of Yankee Stadium. In a pre-game event yesterday, the winners were recognized by name over the loudspeaker system and seen on the Stadium’s large screen as well as every television in the Stadium. After the pre-game on-field ceremony, they enjoyed the baseball game with their friends and families. Alongside the Youth Leaders were Chair Daniel Padernacht, Vice Chair Rosemary Ginty and Youth Chair Lamont Parker.

The NY Yankees Youth Leadership Award is an annual event to acknowledge young people who are providing a positive service to their community by performing leadership/volunteer work as a tutor, mentor, community unity developer, and/or as an advocate against violence and substance abuse in the community. The Award provided a $750 stipend for each Youth Leader, who were selected by Bronx Community Board #8.
