82nd Assembly District – Bronx County

Registered Democrats residing in the 82nd Assembly District are able to vote to elect Judicial Delegates for the 2015 Judicial Convention. Polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

If you are not sure where your poll site is located, click on the NYC Board of Elections Poll Site Locator.  Or contact the Board of Elections at 212-487-5300/5400 or 311.

There are two opposing slates of judicial delegates in the 82nd Assembly District (Co-op City, City Island and Throgs Neck).

Judicial delegates will convene later this month or early October to nominate candidates for State Supreme Court. There are five (5) vacancies in the Bronx’s 12th Judicial District.

To report problems at a polling site, voters can contact the Board of Elections or the U.S. Department of Justice, Voters Section at 800-253-3931 or e-mail voting.section@usdoj.gov.

One of the two slates is endorsed by Assemblyman Michael Benedetto and City Councilman Jimmy Vacca who are both aligned with the BRonx Democratic County Committe.  The other slate is backed by community activist, businessman and political gadfly Egidio Sementilli. Many political observers see this judicial delegate battle as a proxy for the 2017 race to succeed the term-limited Councilman Vacca (CD 13). For his part, Mr. Sementilli denies wanting to run for the City Council, saying in a statement, “I have no plans of running for office and just want to fight for our Community.”

The palm cards for the two slates are pictured below:
