MAYOR DE BLASIO ANNOUNCES ERIC PHILLIPS AS NEW PRESS SECRETARY  

 

NEW YORK—Mayor Bill de Blasio today announced that he has appointed Eric Phillips Press Secretary. As Press Secretary, Phillips will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Mayor’s press office. Phillips has served as a Deputy Communications Director since joining the administration in November of last year.

 

“Eric has proven himself a skilled communicator and a dogged advocate for New Yorkers,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “Eric’s progressive values and deep experience in media relations make him an ideal leader of a talented City Hall press office.”

 

“It is an honor to be part of an administration so deeply committed to improving the lives of New Yorkers across our five boroughs,” said Eric Phillips. “I look forward to joining an already strong team of communicators as we constantly search for ways to be more responsive and effective in sharing the Mayor’s work with the public.”

 

Phillips will begin in his new role on Monday, June 13, 2016.
