Bronxites Catch Partial Solar Eclipse
by David Greene
Bronxites across the borough were seen looking up to the sky during the partial solar eclipse that was visible on Monday, August 21. A large viewing party showing NASA’s live feed of the event was held at the New York Public Library in Kingsbridge and a large crowd was on hand at the New York Public Library in Pelham Bay, who had been giving away the special glasses to see the eclipse all week. Unfortunately, they ran out of the glasses before the event, so many enjoyed the event by sharing glasses with friends and strangers. Mark you calendar, the next partial eclipse over the United States will take place onĀ April 8, 2024.
